Justgreen, I hear you about the penalty for the Eng3 special. I would go Strike System 3 if I had it, but Tier 3 on the weekly missions has evaded me. I hope to be able to do it very soon. I can do Level 31 Drac Outposts pretty easily now, taking out the Guard Fleet with SW Cut3/SFB3 fleet for 1 to 3 minutes damage and then the buildings with IR SW Thud4/CS3 fleet that take 30 in repair time, but with my new Battlecruisers I think I can get sub 20 minutes repair. The problem is takes about two zillion Lvl 31 Outposts to get Tier 3 on the weekly.
I had hopes of upgrading my Stalkers to handle the Level 37 Outpost guard fleet, then either the Battlecruisers or HHa missile fleet to do the buildings. Now it will be Mauler and HHa. I have 4 HH and 1 HHa already built, they were waiting for a couple of blueprints to be refitted. Now I'm in limbo about where to proceed. I want to start the Mauler right away, but it will eat 8 days minimum of dock time ... plus however many 8 hour penalties from being attackers that get through. I'm tempted to refit 3 of HH and use them for the upcoming events, then let the Mauler builds get started. Always too many hulls to build and way too little time.
Darwin, I am looking at something very similar to your design but instead I'll do
2x Siege Missiles D55-A (all I have at the moment)
2x Phalanx 2
2x Hail B
Missile Sys3, Countermeasures 3, RA3
4x D1-M armor (for the stray missile that gets through.
I had intended to use ENG3, but if they are primarily going against stationary targets - not really needed. A battle during events has twice as long as FvF battles between players, so no real reason to have Eng3 ... except if you are racing to get that outpost before a neighbor grabs it ... heh heh!
